# BuffBox > BuffBox is a Magic: The Gathering collection app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Hold a card up to the camera. BuffBox identifies the printing on the device. Then it tracks what you own, builds decks, organizes storage boxes with optional NFC stickers, and runs Match Mode at the table. ## Principles - The core stays free. Scanning, collection, decks, storage boxes, NFC, Match Mode, on-device search, and Scryfall prices are not a trial and are not planned to move behind a paywall. - If a feature runs on the device and costs nothing to operate, it stays free. Premium exists for features with ongoing cost: cloud sync, price alerts, faster cloud search, and publishing shared deck links. - BuffBox is one person, self-funded, with no operating revenue yet. Some website artwork is AI-generated and temporary. The plan is to commission human artists, pay them fairly, credit them, and license the work so the artists keep ownership, for the site, the apps, and physical products such as sleeves. - Magic comes first. Other trading card games are later, after the Magic app is finished, and each game is meant to get real attention for how it is collected and played. - Product feedback goes to hello@buffbox.app. ## Summary BuffBox helps Magic players scan physical cards with the camera or the photo library, identify printings on-device, track owned cards with quantity, finish, condition, and notes, browse the Scryfall database, build deck lists with format legality and a mana curve, organize storage boxes (binders, cubes, shelves, boxes), link free NFC stickers on iPhone to decks or boxes, and run Match Mode (life counter, mid-game card scan, luck tools). Scanning, collection, decks, storage boxes, NFC, Match Mode, on-device search, and Scryfall market prices are free. You can continue without an account; sign in when you want Premium. BuffBox Premium is an optional subscription at 5 USD a month or 20 USD a year, adding cloud sync across devices (including boxes and NFC link state), Scryfall price alerts by push notification, a faster cloud translate for search-by-description, and publishing or revoking shared deck links.
